The base section having a well fitted secretaire drawer to the right and centre which opens to reveal 4 birds eye maple veneered drawers, 5 small pigeonholes and 2 large pigeonholes. The reading or writing slope slides backwards when not in use and retains the original tooled leather writing surface. To the left are 2 drawers above a port folio drawer disguised as a door next to the 2 true doors and all with shaped fielded panels. The whole retaining ornate gilded brass handles and escutcheons with working locks and keys. The drawer fronts are all recessed from solid mahogany and have good quality solid mahogany linings. The moulded stiles having well carved corbels and the whole raised on a plinth base. Dimensions:- Max.Height…91.75’’/ 233cm. Width…72’’/ 183cm. Depth…19.25’’/ 49cm.
