Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It has a moulded cornice above two glazed doors with moulded edges and key with working lock. The interior has three adjustable shelves, whilst the lower section has a rectangular moulded top above two cupboard doors key and working lock. The two cupboard doors have raised fielded panels, and the interior has one fixed shelf. This super antique bookcase stands on a moulded plinth, has wonderful charm, character and splits into two sections for easy removal. The Walnut has aged to a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
