A good quality Waring & Gillows walnut breakfront George Il style bookcase. The dentil and moulded cornice having a cross banded and beaded frieze. The 4 cross banded doors all having astragal glazing bars, the centre doors with shaped arched tops and 2 adjustable shelves with 3 adj. shelves to the wings. The conforming breakfront base having 4 cockbeaded drawers with brass handles and escutcheons. Below are 4 book matched quarter veneered doors again with brass handles and escutcheons and the whole standing on a moulded base with ogee shaped bracket feet.This bookcase retains the maker’s locks for “Waring & Gillows of London, Liverpool & Paris” and is mahogany lined throughout.
