Pair of Paul Storr Georgian Silver Entree Dishes 1792

18th century
Description

A wonderful pair of solid sterling silver entree dishes made by the great Paul Storr towards the end of the 18th Century.

They have elegant plain styling with a broad gadroon border and high domed covers. The detachable handles feature hooves, perhaps to mirror the family crest which is a rearing stag.

They are hallmarked for London 1792. The marks inside the covers are crisp whilst those below the handles on the bases are a little rubbed but still discernible. One of the bases has 'Storr and Mortimer' on the base. The other base is split into two separate dishes.

Dimensions:

Width (including handles): 30cm

Diameter of Base: 23cm

Height: 17cm

Silver Weight: 2.283kg.

Post and packaging are free within the UK. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs and please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
