A superb unusual and rare solid silver Sovereign Case in a square shape. The case is a lovely plain polished silver with no engravings or embossing. When opened a spring loaded compartment is revealed which works faultlessly. There is a loop at the top. The underneath of the lid bears clear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1902 along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and maker''s marks for the silversmith: PJH. Partial marks are also visible on the sovereign compartment frame. A rare and collectable sovereign case. Condition: This sovereign case is in great antique condition.
