Impressive Victorian Solid Silver Salver

A superb, and very impressive large Victorian solid silver salver. This fine salver is exquisitely edged with shell decoration within a raised pie crust border. The centre of the salver is a stylish plain polished silver. It stands nice and straight and firmly on 4 wonderful ball and claw feet.
 
 
 
Very clear hallmarks are visible on the base of the salver for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1899 along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also clear and crisp for the silver maker: Josiah Williams & Co (George Maudsley Jackson & David Landsborough Fullerton).
 
 
 
The grand proportions of the salver (14.5 inches) enhance that majestic appearance of this item.
