A superb, and very impressive large Victorian solid silver salver. This fine salver is exquisitely edged with shell decoration within a raised pie crust border. The centre of the salver is a stylish plain polished silver. It stands nice and straight and firmly on 4 wonderful ball and claw feet.
Very clear hallmarks are visible on the base of the salver for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1899 along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also clear and crisp for the silver maker: Josiah Williams & Co (George Maudsley Jackson & David Landsborough Fullerton).
The grand proportions of the salver (14.5 inches) enhance that majestic appearance of this item.
A fabulous Salver would grace any table or display and could be perfect as a trophy!
Condition: In lovely antique condition (there is only 1 tiny scratch to the surface approx 2mm in length that we mention for accuracy only w...hich does not detract from the fabulous overall condition). Marks showing on images are reflections only.
