A very lovely solid silver Eucharistic Pyx Box used for carrying consecrated hosts. This circular receptacle has a pull up hinged silver lid, beautifully engraved with the Christogram ''IHS''. Underneath the box are the clear hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1935 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker''s mark is also clear: Burns Oats & Washbourne Ltd. When the lid is opened the golden gilt finish to the interior is revealed. There is a loop on the box for attachment.
A beautiful item. Lovely as a gift for Ordination!
