Matching Silver Cream Jug & Sugar Bowl Birmingham 1933

A charming Sugar Bowl and Cream Jug set. To the side of each item are the hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1933 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver along with the silver maker's mark: Collingwood & Sons Ltd. The maker's mark is also clearly visible on the underneath of each piece.

 

The design is beautifully simple, plain polished silver with a lovely slightly protruding border around the top of both pieces. Both stand on three attractive feet and the cream jug has a pretty scroll handle.

A very elegant pair, would grace any setting!

 

Condition: In lovely antique condition, the polished silver surfaces are in great order (there is minimal surface scratching). One foot on the sugar bowl is slightly pushed, however, this does not detract from the item and it stands nice and firm and on the level.
