Vintage 9ct Gold on Metal Core Floral Engraved Bangle

1940 - 1960
Description

A beautiful vintage 9 carat gold over a metal core bangle. A gorgeous floral and scroll engraving adorns half of the face, whilst the other is plain. The inside has been domed for additional comfort when worn and the bangle is secured with a decent slide type fastening. Gold over metal core was used from the beginning to mid 20th century and consists of 1/5th gold over a jewellers alloy. This type of construction gives more strength and durability than pure gold and has four times as much gold as rolled gold. A part of our second hand gold bangle collection.
