Marked Thomas Goode & Co Audley Street, Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, this plate would have been commissioned by this London institution which has long been recognised as a source of opulent and exquisitely crafted goods.
The Company has been located at South Audley Street since 1845, from which base it has provided a uniquely personal service to the great families of Europe, including the British Royal Family.
The plate is hand painted and the colours of the gold leaved pink roses are still very fresh. There is some wear to the gilding on the inner circular strand but no chips or cracks. A few barely visible surface scratches.
In addition to the T Goode stamp the plate is marked 4474.
