A very rare Edwardian silver double Stamp Case. This rectangular case is beautifully decorated with an exceptionally pretty floral design incorporating a circular empty cartouch in one corner. The back of the case is a plain polished silver. The case opens in an unusual way: a green carbouchon gem acts as a slide button and enables the base which holds the stamps to slide out (there are two separate compartments). On the back are the hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1906 along with the maker''s mark: Ahronsberg Brothers.
An unusual and rare stamp case!
Condition: The stamp case is in great antique condition (there are some surface scratches and very minor dents on the back commensurate with age and mentioned for accuracy only).
Hallmarks: Birmingham 1906 by Ahronsberg Brothers.
Measurements: 5.3 x 3.7 cm Depth 4.9 mm (including cabouchon)
