A superior solid silver double Sovereign Case of the finest quality. The lozenge shaped case is a lovely plain polished silver with no engraving or embossing to the exterior. It has a spring loaded hinged lid, opened by a push button, and has a loop to one side for attachment. When the lid is open two sovereign compartments are visible where partial hallmarks on both of the compartment rims are clear and crisp, with a fabulous neat engine turned pattern engraved to the centre pieces (see images). Hallmarks to the underneath of the lid are also visible for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1912 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver along with the maker''s mark: Aaron Lufkin Dennison   The superb craftmanship of the silver maker is very evident.
