Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
Made in two sections, the top has three astragal glazed doors that still have the lovely, wobbly original glass, inside are fixed pine storage shelves and at the top is a well moulded cornice. This antique painted pine bookcase base, like the top, has reeded mouldings to the outer edges and between the doors. The three sold pine doors have raised and fielded panels and the bookcase has the original wide boarded back. In superb condition and in the original, period darker paint with part later paint that has worn in parts. A beautiful piece that is even nicer than the images!
