An exceptionally stunning English silver Tea Caddy. Oval in shape with slightly concave sections to each side, makes an extremely attractive Caddy. The lid is hinged and has a lovely ebony finial on the top for ease of opening and closing (which works perfectly). When opened a gilt washed interior is visible. The Caddy stands sturdy and straight. Hallmarks are visible on the front of the Caddy for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1911 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s marks for the silversmiths Charles Boyton & Son is also visible. There are also partial hallmarks on the inside of the lid (see images).
