A superb, traditional style, heavy gauge silver, Sugar Bowl. The bowl stand on four sturdy ball feet and has two loop handles. The interior of the of bowl is beautifully gilded with a lovely lemon coloured gold. With no engravings or embossing, it is a gorgeous plain polished silver.
Very clear hallmarks are visible on one side next to a handle, for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1917 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also very clear: James Dixon & Sons.
A particularly superior sugar bowl, a good heavy weight and sits very sturdy. It is in super antique collector''s condition. Would grace any table or tea tray and stand in pride of place!
