Edwardian Silver Hammered Vesta Case Chester 1902 By William Neale

An exquisite and perfectly designed Edwardian solid silver vesta case with a circular blank cartouche to the front and a wonderful hammer finish decoration to both the front and back. Hinged on one side the lid opens and closes perfectly. When opened clear hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the vesta for the Chester Assay Office, with a date mark for 1902 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith''s maker''s mark for William Neale. The date letter and Lion Passant also appear on the outside of the lid.
 
This Vesta feels lovely to hold and is a good heavy gauge silver.
 
Definitely a collector''s item due to the wonderful overall condition.
