Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A superb silver Vinaigrette. William IV and fully hallmarked on the inside for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark of 1831 and maker''s mark TS possibly for Thomas Shaw. There are also part hallmarks in the lid. The lid surround bears a floral design and an engraved cartouche in the centre with the initials '' ES''. The bottom has an engine turned pattern. Inside the vinaigrette has been gilded. The grill is a very attractive foliate pierced design with a swirling pattern. The hinge to the grill works well and the lid closes perfectly.
