Victorian Breakfront Carved Mahogany Glazed Bookcase

An attractive late 19th century solid mahogany four door breakfront dwarf bookcase / cabinet in the Chippendale style. The rectangular breakfront top with a leaf carved edge above a swelled frieze, the four glazed doors below with working locks and keys and a total of eight adjustable shelves, with a gadrooned base and raised on six short acanthus carved cabriole legs with ball and claw feet. Stamped by the cabinetmaker with the number ‘3348’ and with a protective glass for the top.
 
This lovely bookcase is of very good quality having crisp carvings, solid mahogany shelves with shaped fronts and a panelled mahogany back, is in overall good, sound condition with marks/scuffs, etc commensurate for age and use. It will provide useful storage for just over 5.8m or 19ft of books. Please note the photographs do not show an additional two original shelves for the sides, and a glass protector for the top which will be provided if wanted.
