A lovely antique silver pebble shaped, squeeze opening tobacco box.
The tobacco box is opened by holding in the palm of your hand and squeezing gently on the sides. The lid is sprung so it opens with the pressure.
It is a lovely plain, polished silver piece with a gilt interior and is very tactile. Inside the on the base are full hallmarks for Birmingham 1913 by Charles Edwain Turner with part hallmarks in the lid.
An unusual pieces in great antique collector''s condition. The opening mechanism works well and there are only minor surface scratches.
