A most attractive Georgian silver Vinaigrette, lovely proportions and beautifully engraved, the quality of the craftmanship is most apparent !
The Vinaigrette is engraved front and back with an unusual flower in the centre surrounded by a dotted pattern. When opened the lovely gilt interior is revealed and the pretty grill is displayed. When the grill is lifted the hallmarks are revealed on both the base and the inside lid for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1808, the Lion Passant and the silver maker''s mark for William Pugh.
The back is unusually slightly concave which adds to the charming appearance. There is a loop to one side for attachment.
Condition: In great antique collector''s condition.
Hallmarks: Birmingham 1808 by William Pugh.
