A truly beautiful silver and enamel box by the famous art nouveau designers Murrle Bennett & Co.
The shape is rectangular measuring: Height: 2cm x width: 9.3cm x depth: 2.7cm approx.
The body of the box is a plain polished silver, and the crowning glory is the most exquisitely decorated lid comprising a beautiful two tone pale green guilloche enamel base. This has then been beautifully decorated with wonderful pink roses and foliage, the intricate detail of the roses is stunning!
The lid is securely hinged and when opened the .925 silver import marks are visible for Birmingham 1910 along with the maker''s mark for Murrle Bennett & Co (this mark has been overstamped which was not an unusual occurrence when maker''s stamped their marks). There are also partial hallmarks to the underneath of the lid.
As well as being splendacious the box is a very good heavy gauge of silver - it is lovely and sturdy and does not feel flimsy.

Condition: The overall condition is extremely good with no significant damage, there is some very slight surface scratching to the silver that we mention only for accuracy and commensurate with the age of this antique item
