Stunning Silver Tea Caddy London 1913

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

An exceptionally stunning English silver Tea Caddy. The outline shape is a simple and beautiful oval and is sightly tilted upwards either side, with a neat gadrooned border around the top. The lid is hinged and has an attractive finial on the top for opening and closing (which works perfectly). The tea Caddy sits on four perfect ball feet and stands sturdy and straight. Hallmarks are visible on the back of the Caddy for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1913 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s marks for the silversmith: Robert Pringle & Sons is also visible. There are also partial hallmarks on the inside lip of the lid (see images).
