Fine Engine Turned Silver Vesta Case Birmingham 1928

A solid silver Vesta case in a lovely, unusual wavy engine turned design to both the front and back. There is a small rectangular empty cartouch in the left corner. The lid of the Vesta is hinged to one side and there is a loop at the side for attachment. When opened the hallmarks are clearly visible for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1928 and maker''s marks for Frederick Field. The Lion Passant is also visible indicating the finest sterling silver. (There are also partial marks visible on the outside of the lid). A good heavy weight and feels very tactile when held.
A handsome Vesta case, very stylish design.
Condition: In great antique collector''s condition.
Hallmarks and maker''s marks: Birmingham 1928 by Frederick Field.
