A large solid silver Vesta Case, great proportions (larger then the regular size (5.6 cm x 5.6 cm approx). This Vesta is in lovely antique condition and is beautifully engraved with swirling leaf design. There is an unusually shaped empty cartouch in the centre The lid is hinged on the right hand side and opens and closes perfectly. When opened the gilded interior is revealed , along with the hallmarks that are clearly visible on the inside lip for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1903 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also clear for the silver maker: W J Rodgers.
Wonderfully shaped design and in lovely antique collector''s condition.
