A Regency Period Breakfront Bookcase of Small Size.

Description

This bookcase dates from the early 19th century. It is made from Cuban mahogany and is of superb quality. The bookcase doors are feather banded and the cupboard base doors are inset with curl panels. The colour is excellent as is the cabinet making. A really good feature is the fact that it stands on unusual bun feet which stops it looking too “planted”. It is fitted with glass shelves and the interior is lit. Also at only 87 inches high it will fit into many rooms that a normal breakfront bookcase would be too tall for.

From the quality, design and overall style it is attributed to the premier workshops of Gillow. English, circa 1815.
