Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A charming solid silver stamp case in the form of a satchel. The lid of the case is nicely engraved with a border that emulates stitching and pretty engraving around button. The hinge lid opens to allow placement of stamps. When opened, clear hallmarks are visible for the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1904 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver as well as the maker''s marks for the renowned silversmiths: Crisford & Norris. Partial marks are also visible on the inside of the lid. The back of the case is plain polished silver. There is a loop attached to the top.
