Fine Silver Tea Caddy Goldsmiths & Silversmiths London 1911

A superb sterling silver Tea Caddy made by the renowned silversmiths: Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd. The shape is circular cylindrical form and is a lovely plain polished silver, decorated with only a border of engraved silver bands to the upper and lower body of the Caddy and also around the pull off lid. To one side of the Tea Caddy are the very clear hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1911 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, along with the maker's marks for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths. These full hallmarks are also visible on the inside of the lid.

The base of the Caddy is stamped 'Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company 112 Regent Sreet W'

 

This is a particularly attractive and unusual Tea Caddy in lovely antique collector's condition.
