Description

A super quality light English Oak bookcase attributed Gillows. Having 3 shelves adjoined by upright supports with faux inset panels, sham leather bound books decorate the shelves to outer sides. The top having a reading slide of which pulls forward. The whole raised on a revolving base. Wonderful condition and colour throughout. English, Circa 1850.

Gillows produced small pedestal book stands from the 1790's using leather sham books.
