Edwardian Silver Stamp Case Rare Button Fastening Birmingham 1902

A very attractive solid silver envelope style stamp case. Beautifully engraved and unusual as the case has a button fastening rarely seen (the envelope flap closes onto a button that fits in place on the flap - see images). The engraving on the back of the case has an unusually designed empty cartouch, above which are the hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1902 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker''s mark for Henry Williamson is also visible.
 
 
 
Condition: In great antique condition (the hallmarks are slightly rubbed , however, still visible).
