Fine Scottish Silver Gothic Toast Rack Edinburgh 1900

An exceptionally fine and neat Victorian solid silver toast rack. Unusually designed in a most fabulous gothic arch shape, the rack has 4 compartments and sits nicely level on a good solid rectangular base, supported on four neat feet. It has a lovely handle, again in a true gothic style, all culminating in what is a most aesthetically pleasing item. It is a good heavy gauge silver and feels a nice weight when picked up by the handle. Very clearly defined hallmarks can be seen on the top of the base for the Edinburgh Assay Office with a date mark of 1900 along with the maker''s marks for the quality Scottish silversmiths: Hamilton & Inches.
