Rare Silver Pin Cushion 'shoe' Shaped Birmingham 1901

A rare and fabulous, Edwardian solid silver pin cushion in the novel form of a wonderful Georgian style shoe. The plain polished shoe is beautifully decorated with a fine silver buckle and the original pad is in great antique condition.
 
Hallmarks are clearly visible on both sides of the pin cushion for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1901 and maker''s marks for the silversmiths: Adie & Lovekin Ltd. The lion Passant indicating the finest sterling is also visible.
 
A wonderful pin cushion, the superb craftmanship by the silversmith is clearly evident. A rare and collectable item!
