Edwardian Silver Stamp Case Birmingham 1906

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

Very fine, Edwardian, art nouveau , solid silver stamp case, in the form of a satchel with ''Stamps'' embossed across the front, the lettering is a distinctive art nouveau style. The hinged lid opens to allow placement of stamps inside. On the top is a loop for attachment.

When the hinged lid is opened clear hallmarks are revealed for The Birmingham Assay Office and a date mark for 1906. There are also maker''s marks, for the renowned silversmiths: Crisford & Norris

Condition: This stamp case is in very good antique condition. The hinge works perfectly. There are some minor superficial scratches to the surface of the silver commensurate with age that I mention for accuracy (see images).
