This nineteenth-century Neoclassical object is a small bronze figure of Cupid drawing back his bow, styled as a putto figure on a rectangular plinth with an acanthus leaf moulding. The sculpture has a dark brown patina, complemented by a polished brass base with tiered mouldings and distinct relief decoration along the upper edge. The casting shows the figure in motion, holding a curved bow in one hand and wearing a fine dark finish. Measuring 7.6 cm high, 7.6 cm wide, and 4.4 cm deep, the piece stands compactly on any flat surface. It makes a fitting display for a gentleman's library or as a decorative accent on a mantelpiece in a traditional home.
