Impressive Silver Cigarette Box London 1941

A very impressive rectangular silver cigarette box decorated with a handsome engine turned pattern to the lid. The sides are free from any decoration. Underneath the box is a brown leatherette finish. The lid is hinged and when opened a wooden interior is revealed. On one side of the box and also on the side of the lid are the clear and crisp hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1941 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s marks for Alfred Ernest Neighbour is also clearly visible.
 
 
 
The box is an ideal size and would also be ideal as a trinket/ Jewellery box.
