Decorated and inlaid with an array of specimen semi precious stones including Derby Rosso, Siena, Lapis Lazuli, Connamara, Malachite, Oakstone amongst others. Ashford in the Derbyshire Peak District was a leading producer of the finest Pietra Dura products, equal to anything being produced in Italy in the 19th century with several Ashford craftsman showcased at the Great Exhibition in 1851.
