Silver Twin Handled Dish London 1937

A stunning solid silver Twin Handled Dish. The style is utterly splendid. A shallow circular dish with no embossing or engraving, simply plain polished silver, stands on a singular foot. The dish is decorated on two sides with delightfully styled handles - that are good and sturdy and feel nice when held.
 
Underneath the bowl are the very clear and crisp hallmarks for the London Assay Office along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The date mark is for 1937. The quality of craftmanship is very evident in this piece and the silversmiths maker''s mark are clearly visible for Z Barraclough & Sons (James Henry & Herbert Barraclough). It is also stamped under the foot with the silvermaker''s marks.
 
 
 
A very good size being 27.5 cm across dish handle to handle and a good heavy gauge silver.
