Sheraton Style Inlaid Mahogany Open Bookcase

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1900, Sheraton style inlaid mahogany open bookcase. The reverse breakfront top with boxwood string inlay and kingwood banding is over a frieze elaborately inlaid with satinwood arches and inlaid roundels. The 3 bookcase sections each have 2 adjustable inlaid shelves, separated and flanked by pilasters with inlaid bellflower chains. It is all standing on a cross-banded enclosed plinth base.
