A rare and unusual solid silver double sided locket. The locket is in rectangular form and opens like a small book revealing a double sided locket for photos or keepsakes. The front of the locket is beautifully decorated featuring a shield in the centre. It has a lovely engraved border around the edge. The back of the locket is plain polished silver and bears the hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1906 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also visible: ''A.H.J''. It is hinged to one side and opens and closes with a nice ''click''. It has a loop to the top for attachment to a chain or watch fob.
