A truly stunning, solid silver Cigarette Case. Rectangular in shape, the lid and base are a plain polished silver with no engravings or embossing. The clasp and hinges work perfectly, and the interior is beautifully gilded a lovely deep golden colour with the elasticated strap still in place. This strap is unusual as it has a central divider to separate the cigarettes. Both lid and base are very clearly hallmarked for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1910 along with the silvermaker''s mark: Wright & Davies, and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. A good heavy gauge case and a great quality item. Would serve equally well as a card case. Epitomy of the Era! The case is in great antique collector''s condition.
