A superb, Edwardian, solid silver ''Little Miss Muffett'' nursery spoon. The spoon bowl decoration is exquisite featuring ''Little Miss Muffett, along with spider and spider''s web and the words ''Little Miss Muffet'' at the bottom. The looped handle is also nicely decorated (see images). The back of the spoon bears the very clear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1904 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, along with the silver maker''s marks for the renowned silversmith: Levi & Salaman.This spoon comes in the original dark brown leatherette case, which when opened reveals the retailer''s mark on the inside of the lid, printed on cream satin '' Finnigans Ltd, 18 New Bond St W and at Manchester & Liverpool''. A wonderful item very suitable for a child''s gift! Condition: The spoon is in great antique collector''s condition.
