William IV Reverse Breakfront Mahogany Open Bookcase

19th century
Description

Circa 1830, William IV reverse-breakfront, open mahogany bookcase. The stepped, cavetto cornice over a neat frieze with carved husk chains. The 4 narrower open bookcases flank the wide central bookcase, each with 4 adjustable mahogany shelves and are all separated and flanked by mahogany pilasters with neoclassical scrolled foliate carvings. The base with six flame mahogany panelled doors with moulded frames and flanked by pilasters, which conceal adjustable shelving. All on an enclosed plinth base. A high level of craftsmanship in quality mahogany.
