A solid sterling silver novelty pen wipe, modelled as a shoe shine/wipe.
Clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1900, with the maker''s mark of James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin).
The silver is in good condition, with just one crease on a corner. The bristles are a bit thin in the middle but overall it is in good condition and is still a working item. As is it weighted, it would also make a useful paperweight.
