What can only be described as an exquisite, Victorian, solid silver Tea Caddy. Very nicely sized, this Tea Caddy is perfectly shaped in circular form, graduating to a smaller width at the bottom and has a lovely pull off lid, that is plain polished silver. The superb craftmanship is evident with the most beautiful embossing around the body of the Tea Caddy, in the form of charming flowers and leaves and on each side, a framed empty cartouch. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1896 along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker’s mark for Josiah Williams. These hallmarks are also visible on the lid. Feels very nice to hold and is a good weight for the size. The empty cartouch could be personalised if required.
