A very smart and very stylish silver double inkwell. The inkwells and base are formed all-in-one in solid silver, the base being oval in shape and the inkwells following suit in an oval design. Both have hinged lids that work perfectly and when opened reveal a lovely pale lemon gilt. Both contain the original glass liners to hold ink! Clear hallmarks are visible for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1930, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and maker''s marks for A&J Zimmerman. Partial hallmarks are also visible on the underneath of each of the lids  A superb collector''s item. Unusual in design and oozing with iconic 1930''s style!  Condition: This inkwell is in antique collector''s condition.
