Charming and unusual, this solid silver Trinket Box comes in the shape of a desk. The rectangular box has a sloped lid with a very neatly designed decorative border. It stands firmly on four solid feet. When the hinged lid is opened it reveals a lovely interior (this has been expertly refurbished with wood and purple velvet).
Hallmarks are visible on one side of the box with partial marks on the lid, for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1924 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silversmith''s maker''s mark is also visible for J B Chatterley & Sons.
The underneath of the box has a leatherette finish.

Condition: This box is in very good antique condition, however, there are a few minor dings on the surface of the lid (see image 6).
