Fine Victorian Silver Hip Flask Birmingham 1897

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A very fine, Victorian, solid silver Hip Flask. Oval in shape and concave on one side, the Hip Flask is extremely attractive and very tactile and a great size to keep in a pocket or handbag! The lid is attached permanently and hinged and also unscrews to allow a secure fastening and no spillage. Very clear hallmarks are visible on both one side of the Flask and just below the lid on the neck of the Flask for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1897 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also very clear for Deakin & Francis Limited, There is no engraving or embossing, simply nicely polished silver, further adding to the overall attractiveness of this item.

A stunning item, very well made and great for practical use!

Condition: Great antique condition. There two very small slight dents on either side of the hip flask that we mention for accuracy, hardly noticeable unless very closely examined.
