E W Cousins and Son has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The drop front opening to 6 pigeon holes with ebony frames over 1 long and 4 short mahogany lined drawers with maple fronts and ebony frames around a void centre all with turned bone knob handles. The bottom right hand drawer with inkwells. The baize lined writing surface within a cross banded frame. Pair of cupboard doors below having the same ebony stringing and brass door strip these opening to 3 oak lined sliding trays with mahogany fronts. The drawer and cupboard flanked by reeded ebony panels the lower panels part of the doors and the top ones halved by the drawer. Moulding below the drawer running around the sides. All on turned legs with ebony ball feet.
