A Fine Georgian Mahogany Breakfront Bookcase

18th century
Description

Raised on a plinth base with cupboards doors enclosing a single shelf interior and flanked by drawers with a secretaire drawer above with inset writing surface. The upper section with glazed doors and carved patera enclosing a painted interior with adjustable shelves. The cornice is fluted and has a shaped center housing a large carved oval patera. The whole is in Cuban mahogany and is of a very good colour and patina, the handles are old replacements. 2110mm high, 1920mm wide and 580mm deep. Circa 1760.
