William IV Mahogany Waterfall Bookcase, C.1830

Description

Good quality William IV waterfall bookcase, in mahogany with veneered edges, the graduated and stepped shelves above a pair of drawers with turned knobs and raised on turned front feet.

The shelves move in internal depth from 17 to 27 cms.

The shelves have an unusual paper lining, and the back and sides have ash supports, presumably to keep the books away from the backboards.

The overall depth is 17 cms at the top, and 30 cms at the base.

Good condition, colour and surface, but would benefit from a polish.
