A superb example of Pettitt''s work.
Born into the Birmingham family of artists, Charles Pettitt was a landscape painter who painted in oils and travelled extensively throughout the British Isles to paint his landscapes. He loved the mountains of the Lake District, Wales and Scotland and his paintings are as popular today as they were during his lifetime.He exhibited at the Suffolk Street Galleries, London, the British Institution, and other provincial galleries. His work is held in York Art Gallery.
